While the tour may be finished, we are only beginning to “Follow the Light” as God leads us to Africa! He has blessed us tremendously with a great homes tour. No one we have talked with has ever heard of using this type of event to raise money for missionaries! God is incredible and my wife is creative!

Some of you are dying to know the bottom line. As of the time of this message, we have cleared $6,350! Over 300 people attended the event. Included in the total are $1,111 that came in from the Bake sale, and $943 from the raffle of 31 gifts that were donated from area businesses, each worth $20-$40. Over the past week we had over 60 volunteers helping. We praise the Lord for all of this!

Others want to know the personal details. This part is for you. We heard numerous comments from people we don’t even know that this was the best Christmas homes tour they had visited, and some had visited some very nice ones in our area. The homes were absolutely amazing! Photos from just one home are displayed at:

The bake sale wasn’t what you would normally think of when you think “bake sale”. This was a collection of incredible treats that could have been on display in a bakery or sweets shop. All treats purchased were placed into little gift boxes that were donated. What a great touch. Thank you so much to all the ladies who labored many hours to put this together!

Thank you to our musicians who presented live cello and piano music in one home. What a great touch! Most of the homes had free refreshments available, made from recipes found in a cookbook one of our friends put together. We give a huge thanks to Glenna for continuing her countless hours of work, even after losing her 16 year old daughter to a drunk driver just over one month ago. The cookbooks were in Laura’s memory with a tribute on the back cover. Glenna has been a close friend of ours for about 15 years now, and her daughter Jessica is organizing a 5k run/walk in her sister’s memory with all the proceeds going to help us work in Africa. Check out her website at: www.lbrun.com

I will try to give more details of the Follow the Light Holiday Homes Tour soon. People have asked what we are planning next, it will definitely be to work on our monthly support. The homes tour will put us over $25,000 toward the $32,000 we need to move to Africa, but we still only have $1,600 of the $6,700 we need to have committed in monthly giving.Candle-Bible

As we approach the opening of our Christmas homes tour, we are truly humbled by the number of people who have come alongside and put in hours of work.  This is much bigger than just raising money for our move to Africa.  We can sense that God is working in many other ways that will have impact for years and even for eternity!  If you haven’t bought tickets, it is very easy to do online:
